Internet Explorer not loading sites

Hey
My IE browser gets jammed, whenever I enter a site and press 'Enter'. The homepage disappears, and it appears as though the site is about to load; for example when I type in 'hotmail.com', the top of the screen changes from Google to "MSN HOTMAIL-SIGN IN" or something like that. But then it stops or gets jammed there, and at the bottom of the page there are the words"Error on Page". Sometimes, the bar at the bottom of the screen which shows the progress suddenly shows black and white bars moving, and then suddenly the browser closes. Any idea?? If so, please do tell me in a bit of detail; I'm a novice.

Sounds like you may have a browser highjack.
Download a few tools. AVG-Antivirus - Scan and clear ADAware SE - Scan and clear HighJackThis - Scan and remove browser highjacks
Once all is clear retry..
Junk Internet Explorer, Get Firefox! You'll be happy you did.

I know Firefox is better, but I want IE mainly for checking Hotmail directly from MSN. Thanx for the tip. I'll try it out.

Reinstall IE 6.0 Open Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> Add/Remove Windows Components -> uncheck Internet Explorer. Save changes. Then go back into the same location and check again. Save changes.
Also, check your Internet settings in Internet Options to verify correct LAN Settings.
