I have lost my IE Icon on my desktop. I have tried every thing that I know of to get it restored, no success. Can any one explain what I have to do in order to get it restored?
right click on it and make a shortcut. Then put it on your desktop or wherever you want it.

ALostOne, You could right click your Desktop, choose Properties, under the Desktop tab click the Customize Desktop button, under the General tab checkmark Internet Explorer, click OK/Apply/OK.

Doctor 1954, Under C:\Program files\Internet Explorer, there was no "Iexplore.exe".
Tufenuf, where you ask me to check mark "Internet Explorer". It already contained a check mark.
Thanks to both for the information.

Then UNcheck that checkmark, OK, Apply Customize Desktop, recheck the box, OK, Apply OK
It could be that the icon is off-screen. If the above still doesn't work: Right-click the desktop, arrange icons by, auto arrange.

Perhaps the IE icon is gone because the program has been uninstalled.

Do a search for "iexplorer.exe" on the system. If you find it then make a shortcut as explained previously. If you do not find it then reinstall IE.

CyberSlug, I unchecked the mark, Ok, apply, ok. then rechecked the mark, this didn't work. I then arranged the icons by "Auto Arrange" as you suggested. Lo & Behold, there it was.
I can't thank you enough, as well as all the other guys.
