Hi there After I installed a new scanner to my Compaq Armada 1750 laptop had Internet Explorer freezing every minute or so. I uninstalled the scanner, still the same problem occurs.. Should I delete my Internet Explorer 5.0 and download and install IE 6.0? Or does it have to do with my ISP?

If you installed XP, it should have installed IE 6.0 automatically I believe (??). I'd get rid of 5.0...definitely. -=Bryan=-

I think Bryan is right about XP installing 6.0 automatically (unless you did a custom install and chose not to install 6.0?) but regardless of that, it sounds to me like you are having a driver conflict. I would check to be sure that the manufacturer of your scanner doesn't have some more recent drivers for it on their website. That might be a faster fix than the always lengthy IE download (which may not solve your problem anyway). Another suggestion would be to try another browser, like Mozilla or Opera or something. IE isn't the best browser out there in the first place, and it notoriously locks up at the most inconvinient of times without any help from conflicting drivers ;) Hope this helps, good luck.
