Internet Explorer Freezes after SP1

Before SP1 this never used to happen , now it is freezing all the time, has anyone else been having this happen too? What suggestions if any? Thanks all......

Uninstall SP1 (I assume you selected the backup files option) and re-install it.

I have had no problems at all with SP1. Do as Bubba says but try out IE without SP1 and see if it works with out it. Then reinstall SP1 and see if the problem reoccurs. This way you can narrow it down so to speak. Good Luck Ron

Check out the Internet Explorer web site. If you are using IE6 there is SP1 just for the browser.

I had problems with XP after sp1 too. The third time I installed sp1, I first went into msconfig and the startup folder and made sure nothing ran at startup, then rebooted and installed sp1, and finally Internet Explorer worked right. I don't think the service pack files always install completely, and that's where the problems come from.

Hi everyone. I did uninstall SP1 and things have improved with IE6. I did have the SP1 for IE6 as well but it and other programs were freezing up so much I had to get rid of it. It also slowed my computer down too so I don't know what happened.
I also did a fresh installation of XP Pro because I was having problems earlier with the modem and that SSA Controller but all was fixed before I installed SP1.
I may try to install it again once I am sure everything is running good again or I may just wait till they have a fix for SP1 too...lol. Thanks again!
