Jaffa 94, stupid thought. Does desktop have wireless card? Possible firewall settings are too high (maybe that should be exception?)? Can you get there with anything at all?

Try to use ping to troubleshoot this network problem, think there is configuration problem.

If your getting that message, chances are your internet connection was lost.

The other option is that you have a virus blocking your connection or maybe your virus protection is the cause.
