Perhaps it's because of your Caps Lock key being on...

Are you establishing a connection to your ISP?
DO you even get a "Home Page" display? In IE Tools>Internet Options tab clear your temp internet files and cookies. Check your connection info to ensure it is correct, If you have not already done it, run some anti- adware programs such as AdawareSE, Spybot S & D.

Post back with results.

Of course it's not your cap lock. By using all caps you've just shouted too loud into our ears on a quiet Saturday..hence wombat comment.

No I do not have a process called SP.exe running.
The odd processes i have running are NMain.exe, VPTray.exe, brss01a.exe, BrmfRsmg.exe, VAServ.exe, QuickDCF.exe, lsass.exe

Those processes are fine, i can only suggest that you somehow get ad-aware and spybot search and destroy on your system and run full scans with both programs. If you have access to another PC download them and also get the updates as well.
