Hi There

I went to update my computer to internet explorer 7.0 but after the installation, it came up that it was not installed. So I followed the troubleshooting page at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917925 but nothing seemed to work. I tried to edit the registry file "mailto" but was unable to do any permission thing as indicated on that page. It told me "Access Denied" after I tried to apply it. So what do I do?

MS have made a big mistake with IE7, if & when you have to repair XP, IE7 has to be uninstalled.

I would try one of the IE engined browsers, or go to Firefox.

Go to Windows directory and check from ie7.log that what registy key is unwritable. Then open regedit (Start-Run-regedit) and give that key full permissions.
