Comment:

Recently my internet explorer 6 downloads file without asking me where to save the file to or the option to choose Save As or open when you click on a download. I accidentally unchecked the box to choose Open As or Save as and to choose a destination to save my files to. I would like the dialog box to come up everytime I download files letting me to open as or save as. Please respond. Thank you.

Go to IE Options - Advanced Tab - Browsing Section 'Notify when Downloads Complete' - make sure you have a Check in there

Yes that box is checked. That is not the problem. THe problem is that internet explorer when I click on a download link automatically downloads and does not let me choose the destination or if I would like to save as. PLEASE RESPOND. THANKS.

Start Regedit
Go to Hkey_Classes_Root \ exefile
Change the EditFlags value from
"d8 07 01 00" to "d8 07 00 00"
