Internet Explorer 6 Pop-Up Lag

Hi... I am having a big problem with my Internet Explorer. Every time I click a link that opens up a pop-up window or go to a page that has an automatic pop-up on it, it lags for a very long time. I have run Ad-Aware, so I have no spyware. Cleaned out my temp and cookies. Any ideas???

Did you install Java for IE6? The Microsoft JVM must be downloaded from the net separately as an exe file that you save and then run.

Yes, IE was already installed with SP1, ready to go. The weird thing is, this started happening right after I used the Toshiba recovery CD on my laptop. It was a fresh install back to the factory condition it came in. All I did was install my programs back in (which all worked fine before), but somehow, there's this problem with IE.
