Could you give a couple of examples please

If it's only certain places then maybe the Site no longer exists or they are having a temporary problem etc

I am having a simular problem. I cannot access any .net services. like msn messenger, my msn email. or any web sites that require a login.
I had to download netscape so that I could get into my online accounts. They all work fine there except for any msn accounts. If this is what you are experiencing maybe someone will be able to help us both. Emailed microsoft tech support two days ago, but have had no response yet.

yes, yes, yes, and yes
doing all the above, and still have the problems. I also tried to use windows update, and it won't do that either norton and avg both come up clean. so does spybot and adaware.
I hope this isn't going to be r & r

A briefe follow up to this. I am still unable to access any of these things with winxp. My machine is dual boot with win 98. I booted that up, low and behold, everything works. If anyone has been following this you may have noticed other posts on the forum with people having similar problems. I am starting to think this is some sort of virus problem if it is it is not being detected. I have both norton and avg running and neither one is finding anything. I am also firewalled and that hasn't shown any kind of invasion. I am at a total loss. Are all of us suffering with this problem looking at a reinstall? Or is it just an internet explorer problem that can be somehow fixed?

I believe my problem was the same. Could not get to online banking or certain links (the ones in email). This message board inspired me to go find a solution. I think this is it. It worked for me. I had to run the "regsvr" for each ".dll". The tech article did not really fit due to the "IEAK" part, but did it anyway.
