Well it happened recently, all of a sudden my internet stops working all together, Typing anything into IE will make it flash something along the lines of "Loading http://dns404error.com" and nothing will load. I'm on a wireless connection and figured it could be the router, however I pinged it and it was there but try to access it's IP and I get that DNS message again. Also a side note is that IE will load, but Firefox won't. Tried to cheat my way out and use system restore but it always gives that System Restore Incomplete message. Can anyone help get this laptop's internet back without reformating?

Hi,
I sent to Google and did the search IE will load Firefox will not load The following link has info that might be helful to you. And as I type this, I just realized, you won't be able to load this! ok, excuse me while I tap my forehead againt my monitor. There, that's better. Ok, I pasted the end user's reply. If you are able to get it to work, check the link out I pasted below.
Hi,Fortunately my system has started responding after i got the network guy to reconfigure the IP/Gateway after i did all my stuff. Thanks all for your help and support. Atleast I did not have to reinstall XP, BTW, The Firefox does not work at all !.
We in india don't use licensed copy of XP at our home, it costs like just 100/- rupees for pirated s/w instead of 7000/- for a licensed copy!. I am hopeful that my system is slow bec of the network because it sometimes misses pinged. I try getting it resolved asap.
and Guys, why are you giving away your $$$ to BestBuy, just give me $50 bucks or less and i will do it for you! he he. Looks like a good idea to setup business. Well in india who would pay 7000-8000 bucks for virus removal if it's a home PC?
Thanks a lot
