internet does not work after format

Yes, I did install XP successfully and I ran the internet connection wizard, but the internet still doesn't work.

The internet will not work unless you configure or use your ISP-provided software. If you have done that too I suggest you call your ISP for a walkthrough.

We need more information. How do you connect to the Internet (cable/dsl router, cable/dsl modem, etc)? If it is using a router are you getting a valid network address. Can you ping your router (if you have one)? Define "Internet does not work"....can you get to a website by entering it's IP address instead of it's URL? I can go on and on.

Verify that TCP is installed correctly by pinging yourself with 127.0.0.1. If you get a reply, look for any utilities that your ISP provides...as Xpuser stated.
