this is starting to frustrate me alot, ive ran lots of different scans thinking this was possibly virus related, but all came back clean (adaware, spybot, xcleaner, stinger, avg, atf cleaner, ccleaner)
the strange thing is when the internet crashes if i disconnect the ethernet cable and reinsert it,it comes back up
sry for being a bit vague if theres anything else needed to help me with this problem, post and ill add
regards M

first thing I would do is try a new network cable. maybe there is a problem with that.
then check and make sure you have the newest drivers for your network card.

thx for quick reply.ive checked all the cables was the first thing i done,as my dog has a habit of chewing things.ive also checked the drivers there all upto date.

you can probably try the 2 fixes in my link under the heading 'Lost your connection'

C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosti done a search and someone said it was some sort of a browser hijacker but ive no idea if i should delete the file,as nothing else is finding it

The hosts file is supposed to be there and should look like something like this.
If there is anything else in there and you didn't put it there yourself then there could be a problem.
Feel free to post the contents of your file. It can be found in c:\windows\System32\drivers\etc and the name of the file is "hosts" without an extension.
