Comment:

My friend and I both have seperate user accounts on my PC. The other day her account "reset" itself. (I won't go into details. I have all her files backed up so it's no problem). However, she can't now connect to the internet and it only gives us the option to dial up. Checking internet connections in control panel shows that our broadband connection is recognised. So my question is, what do I need to do to get the broadband connection to run when I click on the internet explorer short cut. Thanks.

Are you using IE or Firefox?

Got to Internet Options under tools, make sure that "Never dial a connection" radio button is selected.
