On the second system allow the IP address to be assigned via DHCP. Go to Start>Network Connections, right-click your LAN adapter and click properties. Under "This connection uses the following items:" double click "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)." In the box that comes up, click "Obtain an IP address automatically" and click OK, then OK again.

dear Rayburn

thanks for reply i also used this mathod
u know every things is ok and fine through DHCP it will gain the IP daynomically as
for Two Nic computer
IP automatically configured by ISP for internet
when i shared this connection so the internal secound one NIC will automaticaly assign IP of 192.168.0.1
similarly through DHCP i assign IP to client system 192.168.0.2
every thing is share but internet is not sharing
when i routen the same mathod in case of daul up connection so the client access the internet but due to DSL it will share every thing except internet. although the client request contineously but no response from other system
noted that i have connect DSL modem with system NIC through cross cable not USB cables and this system will access internet as well. but client cont access
pleaze dear reply me with complet details that what setup can do i on system with two NIC and as will as what can do with client computer so that client can access internet without any problem

Dear sohail khan ,

Seems some settings are misconfigured.
I would like you to follow below steps (I know u have done this but please verify )

I am 99.99% sure , this will help you.

-On the computer with 2 NIC, one NIC ip is from ISP (DHCP) and 2nd is to be choosed by you.

1 ) assign this Ip to ur 2nd NIC.
IP = 192.168.10.1
subnet = 255.255.255.0
gatway = 192.168.10.1
DNS = 192.168.10.1
.

( I believe internet connection sharing is already enabled on first NIC)

2) on the client compuers assign below IPs.

IP = 192.168.10.2 or 3 or 4
subnet =255.255.255.0

Gatway = 192.168.10.1

Here, gatway is importent.

now, check the connection,

It should work now.

If case no then pls post the steps u have doen till now,

remember to type each steps,

Thank you

Subhash Chandra.

i have another problem before installing ISA sever 2006 SE my files are shared with clients and they will access there folders similarly they gaind response from server with ping commond but when i install the ISA server 2006 Standard or Enterprise Edition the clients do not access there files ping commond is also not working here server can get reply from client but client do not doing any thing

similarly the user who authenticated before the ISA instalation will authenticated after the installation of ISA server but when i add another user to active directory and wants to authenticat from server to there client system a massage will generate from the cleint machine that the domain does not exist but when i log on through the user who authenticatd before the ISA server will directly log on to client machine instresting thing is that they will directly log on not authenticated by the server.

will any one have the solution send me detail
