I two computers sharing the same network and one has the cable modem and a shared network with the other computer. However, when i go through the properties of the connection i want to share i get the message "An error occured while Internet COnnection Sharing was enabled. The specified service does not exist as an installed device." What does this mean and how should i fix it.

Try the following areas A)Make sure the installed LAN/NIC card/device is properly installed and having the appropriate drivers B)Right My computer>Properties>Hardware>Device manager>Check under NETWORK ADAPTERS any "YELLOW" exclamination marks.If it is there then you need to install the drivers or there is a conflict with the system C)In the same window,check whether the NIC card is listed D)In the connection properties check the Enable Internet connection sharing box under the Internet connection sharing tab, make sure to select a LAN connection from the list. E)Remove any current firewalls temporarily F)Right the appropriate connection > properties .In the general properties tab,UNTICK ->"NOTIFY ME WHEN THIS....." Give a short on the above areas.
