Hi all,
I have problem connecting to internet since I tried to
change my computer startup options. It used to take a lot
of time to load all the programs so I went to RUN
msconfig and changed the setup. Since that I can not
connect to internet. The other thing that happened was
that the windows bar on the bottom of the screen that
used to be blue turned gray and old looking.
I tried to restore the same configuration I had before but
still not working.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Did you try running a system restore to a point prior to the problems?

Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore... from there you will be able to restore your pc to an earlier point in time if the system restore function hasn't been disabled in the past.

You can also go into display settings and choose the Windows XP theme to get the blue taskbar back.

Also, what ISP do you use to connect to the Internet? If it's a dial-up like AOL and you unchecked the "connectivity service" in msconfig, the AOL will not connect.

Thanks all for replying,

I could not use system restore, because unfortunately it was
turned off for some reason. I just turned it on now.
I use comcast DSL.

you did not just uncheck items in the start tab, you unchecked items in the services tab, this is also why the taskbar changed.
Go back to msconfig/services & enable all, then reboot. Then once things are working, uncheck a couple of items at a time, to learn what you can live without.

You really need to post this in a separate, new post in the XP forum. Nobody will notice it here at the end of a month old thread!
