Hi there, I have Dell Dimension 4300 with Windows XP Home Edition. Recently I've reformatted my HD. Everything went well. I also have Optimum Online Cable Modem. Now I'm unable to connect to the internet. What could be the problem? Called cablevision, they told me to call Dell Support. Your help would be greatly appreciated. HELP!!!
be a bit more specific with what the problem is, what is actually happening?
no dial tone? browser not loading?
what exactly isnt happening, be specific so that we can get to the point quicker...

Hi guys. I apologize for not providing enough information but I solved the problem. Initially, when I reformatted the HD and physically connected the cable modem I had no connection to the internet my IE wasn’t showing me anything. I knew that cable vision has no account names or passwords but every time I tried to run Network Setup Wizard or installation program from a supplied CD it was asking me for account names and passwords and stuff. At first everything went well until the part where it was trying the connection and nothing was working. So, I simply reinstalled the USB drivers through Add Hardware option instead of installing them from a supplied CD and it solved the problem right away. Thank you guys for all your help.
