I am currently unable to establish an internet connection within one of my two computers on my network, which is established through a Linksys Ethernet router on a DSL line. The task tray on the bottom right-side of the screen displays a yellow (!) connection sign, indicating the inability for Windows to establish a connection.
I must add that when I unplug the network cable from my computer/wall jack/router, the icon indicates a red (x), signifying that the error is not resultant from the cables, but rather from some internal programming within Windows.
I have tried the Repair option to no avail, and booting the computer in Safe-Mode has not solved the issue. Signing in as a different user and using different internet browsers has not proved to be effective. This has occurred unexpectedly yesterday, and I have not been able to establish a connection on that PC since. Anyone have any ideas at all? Thanks

Type CMD in the RUN slot and then type “ipconfig /?” and hit enter. You will be given instruction for flushing the DNS Cache and Release the IP for a specific unit, and renewing the IP for that unit.
Try those options before moving onto the router properties.
If it fails make sure, the router is assigning an IP address to that computer and that the IP is not blocked, in the router properties.
Tomorrow the Stars!

can you ping the network card if not it may be a driver problem, reinstall the driver.
in tcp/ip propertiesmake sure it is set to receive a (dynamic) ip addrss
