Comment:

A few days ago I found that someone had managed to get some spyware/adware on my pc somehow. The main effects of this were the addition of a toolbar to IE, and popup ads. Using a spyware removal program, I was able to get rid of these problems. However, one problem remains.

Whenever I do a search on google.com.. let's say I was searching "horses". The results return as normal, except for three additions:
1.Find HORSES using the Free 2020 Search Toolbar
2.Save money on a new car!
3.Free Virus Scan

I've tried everything I can think of, but I can't manage to get rid of this. Does anyone have any ideas, or has anyone found a way to get rid of this? It happened before, and I used a system rollback to get rid of it, losing valuable files, and I don't want to do that again :(.

Any help appreciated

Thanks

J

PS. Sorry for typing so much ;)

My favorite is PestPatrol. The trial will analyze but you have to deal with the results manually. I also use AdAware and Spybot. Sometime some will catch what the others don't.
Somewhere I remember a program named "HijackThis". From the Netherlands maybe. It sounds like your IE has been hijacked...??

2020Search is installed as a Brower Helper Object (BHO) and can be removed with BHOCop.

Google will find multiple download sources for it.
