Ok this would seem like a newbie question, but this intel icon will not leave! I recently had to use onboard gfx because my radeon 9800 died. But I now have it replaced, and this intel thingy will not leave my taskbar! The drivers are COMPLETLY uninstalled in the add/remove program list, and there is no sign of it, but it will not leave! onboard gfx has been disabled in BIOs as well, but no luck.

Heres a screen:

Dark29delx, Do you get any options if you right click that icon aside of the clock? Look in your Contol Pane where there may be a Intel Applet that has an option to not show the tray icon. If you do find one in the Control Panel do a file search for:

*.cpl

and if you locate the Intel .cpl file right click it and delete it.

Start > Run > type msconfig <OK>. Scan through the entries in the Startup tab. Deselect any you think are suspicious and reboot. If you guess wrong, go back and reselect it and then try another. You won't hurt the system by 'temporarily' deselecting anything in that list.

Do yourself a favor BACKUP!

Dark29delx, Righr click your Taskbar, choose Properties, under the Taskbar tab click the Customize button, under Current Items click on that Intel icon and using the drop down arrow button choose "Always hide", click OK/Apply/OK.

Dark29delx, Follow the instructions at the link below. It's for Past Items but it's worth a shot.

Dark29delx Have you checked in Device Manager/Display Adapters to see if there are still traces of those Intel drivers showing as being installed?
