My Windows XP will not start. This message:
Intel(R) Boot Agent Version 4.0.14

Intel Base-Code, PXE-2.0 (build 083)

PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-MOF: Exiting Intel PXE Rom.
Boot Failure: System Halted_keeps appearing. I would constantly restart it by ctrl+alt+del, but it would repeat itself with the message. And what is a BIO and how do I open it? Please help...

Your system has a bootable network card installed and it is saying Media test failure because a network cable is not plugged in. When it can't boot from the network card it should continue on to boot from the hard drive. Maybe you are restarting too quickly or your BIOS settings have changed to only attempt to boot from the network card. When you boot up your computer for a few seconds you should see it flash on the screen what key you need to hit to get into the bios or system configuration. When you get into the bios check the boot order and make sure that the hard drive is set to boot first.

umm... now when i start on my comp and after the gateway sign appears, i would hold down the del key to get into my bios, a page will appear and my computer will beep, and then it will quickly go back to the message...more help please...

I just checked - to get into the bios of a gateway brand computer, press F1 key.
Change the boot order for hard drive first and the problem should be solved. if not you may have to disable boot on LAN feature in the bios

Your network card should have its own setup.
On my PXE-2.0 (build 067) the sequence is CTRL-S if that's any help.
