I cannot get certain programs to install. For example, the update for Zone Alarm will not install, and the update for Incredimail will not install (although other programs will). The ones that will not flash by (with Incredimail, I get the Wise installer blue logo, which immediately disappears). I have tried disabling my antivirus, which makes no difference. I have run Ad-Aware and cleaned out everything it found.

This might be a problem with the windows installer. Check first that the service is running... Control Pannel > Administrative Tools > Services > Windows Installer. Have a look at this page.. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;298037 Try also going to www.microsoft.com and perform a search on Windows Installer. There is a way you fix this but i dont quite remember.. i have a look and get back to ya... Juzz

I have tried everything I can think of and it still will not work. I found one other similar problem (http://www.outpostfirewall.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-4818.html) but it ended up not helping either. What I don't understand is why some installs work (the one for Picasa, for example) and others do not.
