hello help,
my xpmce2005 os failed. i replaced the hard drive an upgrade from 160 to 1tb. i also replaced ram from (2)512 to (2)1gb. when doing a fresh install i reeived this error.
BSOD
page fault in a non paged area.i have been reading on this. i tried and succedded installing vista on that drive.
the problem is i do not want vista. i tried a dual boot on a diferrent partition same error.
did a f12 test(dell) received a --pass.
did a mem test received no errors.why would the drive or memory decide to give me an error selectively against xp?
going crazy.
thanks

"why would the drive or memory decide to give me an error selectively against xp?"
If the XP install was from a Dell CD and the Vista install was from Microsoft CD, that might explain it. Dell Looks for an Image partition on the hard drive to do the reinstall. 'If' the partition with the Dell image has been deleted, that might be the reason.
