My problem is the installaltion locks/halts at a certain screen.

I have tried altering everything in the bios but cant get past this screen. I have installed XP on probably 50 machines in the past never with a problem i could nt solve untill this. Its really done me.

I had a problem with windows copying files. It was some RAM. I realise you have new RAM.

Before posting try google. Backup. Use anti virus software.

How old is the XP disk?

Is it scratched?

Remove all the pci devices and all but one ram modules. If it still hangs change the ram. XP is very nasty about ram on the install.
