Installing XP over Vista

I purchased a Dell Studio Laptop with VISTA Home as its OS. I hate VISTA and want to install XP Professional over it. I have a "reinstall" XP Professional CD. Can I install from that CD without problems?

Better read up on the Dell documents. Might wipe out your Vista. If from Dell then it should have instructions. Might not work even. Might have to slipstream drivers if not dell oem disk. "Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
