im fixing a computer for someone and he has 2 seperate hard drives. theres an english version of XP on one hard drive and a chinese version on the other hard drive.
he forgot the administrative password for the chinese version and can not log into the chinese XP. i tried to bypass the password to no avail.
i want to reinstall the chinese version of windows and make sure it installs on the right hard drive. how do i do that?

Well go to the english version of xp, and see which one say local drive. It should display C: drive local, that is the one that you are logged onto. Right click on the drive that doesn't say local and then click format and it should format make sure you tick quick format. After you should be able to restart and reinstall the OS Chinese version.

You don't need to format the chinese version drive to determine which is which.
You would look at the boot.ini multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS would be the first drive multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS would be the second drive
Might want to consider a repair install of the chinese version which would recover the chinese version.
