I tried installing xp on my laptop but after going through the installation. it says a error. Can someone please explain this error.

File \%WIN_NT$. ~BT\ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded.
The Error code is 7.

Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit.

it seems like the installation media (XP CD) is bad.
Try using a different Windows XP CD.

Try washing the CD with warm, soapy water. Pat dry with a soft cloth, before use.

The 'ntkrnlmp.exe' looks valid but the 'WIN_NT$. ~BT' doesn't! Is that a legal Microsoft CD?
