Hi, I have a 250GB USB External Harddrive for my laptop. Is it possible to install XP Professional on my external drive with the usual setup procedure?. I mean does the setup recognise the external drive for the installation process?. Thanks in advance.

I don't have an answer to your question. But I hope your are not thinking that installing XP on an external hard drive will let you move it from PC to PC. That will not work.
Do yourself a favor BACKUP!

The only way that you can do this is by burning the installation disc as an ISO file and then using an ISO editor and modifying:
