hey peoples, My older family PC is having some drama, getting the "load dlls needed for kernel" error... I can't find my setup CD. Not sure if my dad even got one when he purchased it. I don't mind doing a clean install... I just want it working! I have XP MCE but it wont boot using that CD! nor can i do a recovery as it gives me random error codes 4,7,14... Is there a way to istall XP MCE over my XP Home without a XP Home CD.. is there a secret button that will just nuke everything and let me start over with my XP MCE cd's!

his computer needs a media center edition license. it is found on the computer. (COA) it is a green sticker and it tells you what version of windows that computer is licensed for. If it is for Home and you install PRO or Media Center you are giving him an illegal copy of the OS.
