installing windows XP on a new hard drive.

My hard drive tanked on me so I replaced it and tried to install windows XP back, it loads all the stuff in them it says windows loading then it drops to a screen that says if you see this screen for the first time reboot. I do that it does all the same stuff then same thing?

You need to remove all the extra hardware that is installed on the computer.
Remove all USB devices unless it is your mouse and keyboard. remove any extra drives or memory stick...etc. etc. etc. The n try to reinstall the operating system.
It would help to explain what the problem was that made you think the "hard drive tanked". It would also help if you told us whether you have an IDE/PATA or SATA HDD, the size, if you partitioned, etc. If it's an SATA HDD, did you install the drivers by pressing F6 at the beginning of the XP installation?

ok the old one was a sata and it was making a loud noise so I took it to the shop and they said it was the hard drive. the new one is also a sata and it is 500 GB, and I tried i think I tried F-6 and also I have not had the option to partiotin it yet!
