Comment:

Hi,
I have IBM Server X3650 Machine Type 7979. I need to install Windows XP 64 bit in it for testing a software which runs properly only on WinXP and not on any server OS. Is it possible to install WinXP into it and where can I get the drivers for it?

Not all XEON CPU's are supported:

" Windows XP Professional x64 Edition is designed to work with 64-bit processors from AMD and Intel that support the x64 extensions to the x86 architecture. These include the Athlon 64, Athlon 64 FX, Mobile Athlon 64, Turion 64, and Opteron processors from AMD, and the Xeon with EM64T and Pentium 4 with EM64T from Intel."

You need a 64bit board to install 64bit OS.

Nothing I read here says anything about x64

Education is key to prevention. Prevent conception you prevent abortion. Abstinence training clearly isn't working.
