Installing Progs on Win XP

Hi all, I have Win XP Pro installed and have set up several user accounts for my family members. When I install a new program, if I happen to be in my account at that time, the program shows up in my programs list, creates an icon on my desktop, etc. However if I want that program to be common to all users I have to manually create an icon on each individual desktop. I'm sure there is an easier way to do this. I have checked the Help and Support area and can't seem to find anything on that. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Gary
