Installing more memory in my Dell XPS 400, Wanted to know since its dual channel should the Same memory be installed in Slots 1 and 3 and Slots 2 & 4 to work right or side by side in slots 1 & 2 and slots 3 & 4 ?? I thought it was the 1st and 3rd but wasn't sure anyone know? Thanks Bill

Check the Dell site for the specs on your mobo. All you need is the service tag #.

I used their memory scan on my computer and it told me I can install up to 4 gb mem into the 4 slots even told me which ones to buy however it doesn't say which slots to install the same type memory in to allow dual channel memory to work, and the speed is different on the 2 new sticks I have ordered then the two I have installed now ...
