Installing bigger 2nd HD in HP Notebook

Seagate Momentus 7200.4 500gb hard drive

Specs: Vista Ultimate 64-bit, Centrino core 2 duo
I Currently have a HP Pavilion Notebook (dv9500t) - It comes with 2 sata drive bays. Bay 1 has the original HD in it which is a Seagate 160gb drive and later on I installed a Seagate 80gb drive with no problem at all. I Recently formatted Drive 1 and installed Vista 64-bit since I also upgraded to 4gig of Ram still everything ok with 2nd drive as well all data still there and accessible.
Problem: Lastnight I bought a seagate 500gb drive, swapped out the 2nd drive and my notebook took quite a while to get past the original bios screen (which I imagine it was making the changes) and then when it came time for Windows to boot....it started to and then just SAT AND DID NOTHING! It sits in the screen with the little light that goes back and forth.
All I'm trying to do it replace the 2nd drive that just has music, movies, pictures stuff like that on it. Can anyone help me out with this??
-I know the drive is good btw - tested already.
Thanks
