Hey guys I asked a similar question a fews months back about installing a hardrive. I was wondering would my motherboard or bios limit the size of my hardrive? My understand that your motherboard doesn't limit the size but can the bios?See I want maybe 80-120gb hd just because i have alot of software. My system came with a 20gb hd. I am running windows xp and have a 600mhz athlon processor I dunno if that information helps. Basicly I just wonder how high i could go. Thanks you guys are great. Casey

the bios does limit thesize of the harddrive. however, one can use an overlay software such as ez-bios to bypass the motherboard bios and install larger drives. www.wd.com

Or you can go to your motherboard maker and see if there is any bios updates, that way your bios will be newer and will be able to see the bigger harddrive, I dont recommend overlays to anyone.
Go Check your motherboards manufacture homepage first.
