installing a ethernet driver

Specs: Windows XP
I got a computer from someone and it will it says it cannot find an ethernet driver how do I install one if I cannot get on the net to do so, can I download one and put it on a cd and put it on the other computer?

... this may help insert XP CD

... from cd menu click "install optional windows components"

... [OR go to control panel add/remove programs add/remove windows components]


... check "networking services" [also double click it]


... check "internet gateway device discovery and control client"

Heather, what is the brand of your PC? Why not go to their website and download the proper driver?
