I vote for #1. You installed SP3 and the PC is in a 'frizzy'.

I would uninstall it. If for some reason you can't, use a restore point to go back a few days.

Its not in Add/Remove and i don't use System Restore its turned off. Never worked always failed to restore. Its kinda in a frizzy in safe mode. Works alot better in safemode. Here is what i did. I used a program called Uninstall Dummy. I tried to remove SP3 with that program. All it did was Remove sp3 from Add/Remove. Now i feel like a uninstall dummy. Maybe a repair install would work? I got important e-mails in outlook. I need to get them and i will format the dang drive. Im getting a new computer this week.

A repair install 'should' work. It removes 'all' windows updates.

I just love that signature of yours Chris. LOL.

Ditto for making a ghost of your drive first before installing SP3. That was a wise move.

System restore only can do so much. It WILL work properly if used properly.

The following is an excerpt from the uninstall dummy site. " UninstallDummy! is an easy solution to highlight, uninstall, and remove phantom program entries in your Add/Remove Programs list".

The program is simply intended to remove the entry, not the program. If you had read that prior to using that program you could have saved yourself some grief.

You have an excellent resource here at CN, use it wisely.
