installed nic card, IE won't display

i installed a 3 com nic card to play lan games with my friends. when i go home and connect to internet, it shows connection but says page cannot be displayed. it did not do this before i put in nic card. there is no conflicts in devices. i have tried several sites, says same thing.

Normally, when you disconnect from the modem or router(whatever you are using), you lose a trust between the pc and the device connecting to the internet. Try shutting down the modem or router and letting it cycle through its process and then turn your computer on so the 2 could handshake and establish a trust. This may fix your problem.

sounds like you installed the nic card to play games, and you don't have broadband at home (otherwise you'd have the nic card before).
It could be that your computer is now looking to the nic as its primary internet connection...so when you open IE, it looks at your nic card instead of your modem...
