Specs: Windows 7, 2900MHZ AND 6GB
hi. i need help.
i have desk top pc. just got new, referbish>
6gb ram . window 7, hardrive type hitachi hds72..... SATA DISK DEVICE.

I WANT TO INSTALL windows xp and have dual operation system. .
problem: when i boot up from xp cd , this is the error i get.

Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK/F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

* there is no virus, i ran chksk and everything went fine. ( note from cmd : chkdsk wont run. it telling me that i don't have permission. even when i'm loged in as the administrator with full permission)
*any way, what is wrong with the hardrive?

It is hard to get xp to work on a new system. You'd have to slipstream drivers in usually and service packs if they all exist.

Could you use a virtual machine instead?
