I had window 98 and xp on my computer, a week ago all disappeared.
I want to install xp another time. There are C, D, E, F,G drives on the hard, totally 20gig. Some necessary documents have been copied on F. I downloaded XP setup disks and followed the instructions. For several times I saw blue screen with an error message coded with IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, and something about the BIOS and changing its configuration, which I couldn’t understand. However I changed the disabled the Shadow and try it another time but didn’t work.
Only one time all XP files copied but after restarting the message was: “Invalid partition table”, the same message when I start the computer without any boost disk.
I tried to boot it with several boot floppy disks( DOS,XP). It starts but it can’t recognize even C drive!
Only when it is booted from Win98 start-up floppy, it recognises the all drives as well as CD-drive. In this case when I want to install XP from CD it says: this program can’t run in DOS.
I asked this question a week ago and received the suggestion for FADISK but : won’t all file on F be formatted? And will it fix the problem?
I cleaned the CD, disconnected printer and CD-writer but still it is the same. What about the Automated System Recovery disk, can it solve the problem, if so from where may I download it? I am in the office now, and I should try your comments in the afternoon therefore, if you kindly give me a solution please check the message tomorrow.
Thanks
