CPU/Ram: P4 3.2GHZ, 1GB DDR 3200

i justbuilt a new computer, but i dont have winXP. i only have the SONY winXP which was came with the SONY machine. SO is it ok to install this winXP to my new costom built computer? or i should go to the store and get 1? if i install this SONY winXP, it wont have any problem right? thank you!

You may be asked to submit the license key when you download it to the new machine which you should have with the other computer .

well actually the main thing i wanna know is if i use this SONY winXP on my new custom built PC(which is not a SONY machine). will the system run properly?

Restore XP CD's usually only work with the system they came with. It is how the manufacturers save the cost of providing a full XP license from Microsoft. You can try it on your new machine, as there is nothing to loose. If it does not allow you to install it, you can then go to the store and buy a copy of XP.

As we say in the UK - Suck it and see. If it works fine, if it doesn't, you will have to buy one.

It wont be a problem from an activation point of view providing the SONY machine is defunct.

If the same copy is still running on the SONY machine you may have problems when you come to activate.
