How do I install windows xp over Red Had 9? I tried to cold bơot the system with the XP cd in the cd drive put red hat simply ignores it.

Sounds like your bios isn't set to boot from CD first. THere is no way Red Hat can interfere with your start up order. One thing you might need to do is (when booted from dos) type "fdisk /mbr" without the quotes. This writes a dos Master Boot record back to the hard disk. Without doing this XP install may not see the drive. Other than that shouldn't get too many probs.
