Do you actually have VS6 installed? Because trying to install the service pack without first having VS6 is like trying to install XP's SP2 without having Windows XP.

hortis, There is no need to get defensive. Yes, the subject says install VS6, but the body of the post mentions only VS6SP6.exe (a service pack). If I made a wrong assumption, then the same assumption must have been made by everyone else who read your post. Hence, the lack of other replies. If you do, in fact, have VS6 installed, your post was missing vital information. If you are trying to install VS6, your post was completely misleading. If you want help with this problem, I suggest you clarify the situation. Oh, and lose the attitude.
