Comment:

I'm trying to install windows Longhorn on my project computer. It has a 300 MhZ Celeron processor on a pretty old mainboard, 256 MB of ram, the only hard drive is about 60 GB.

Can I get an install time estimate based on this, or anything else I can give? I know it's gonna be a pretty long time, but Longhorn setup doesn't give a progress bar for the actual installation (just the pre-install) or an ETA. Unless I just messed it up or something.

Thanks.

I know next to nothing about this but doesn't Longhorn require a 64 Bit Processor ?

Quite possibly. I know I'll have one by the end of the summer when my aunt hands me her old computer (not actually old) for my project because she's getting a new one. I didn't know if you needed that stuff to install it, though.

No, it will run on 32 bit. I installed it about a year ago but got busted by the computer cops. Threatened to shut down my isp access. Lot's of eye candy.

ok, so would it work (reasonably well) installing those horrible specs, and is there a way to estimate?
