one day, i could't start my windows, it's got error "missing windows\system32 pci.sys", and i tried to use windows cd to recover it, but always got error, then i format the drive and repartition it to two part, then install again, now it has another error message when it's loading to install "file setupdd.sys could not be loaded, the error code is 14", i tried win98, winme and winxp. all of them have the same problem, could somebody tell me what's going on here?

Definitly sounds like a hardware problem as it happens with all the different operating systems.

ya, thank you mesich, i will go check the link,this is first i got this problem, i did check the cd-rom, and hdd, but i doubt it's mboard,

Hi again everyone,
I would first pull all of the PCI cards and leave a minimal amount of RAM. If it works you could then find the culprit by installing 1 or 2 at a time until the error returns.
