Inserting File name into the file

CPU/Ram: 2.66 GHz, 4 GB RAM

I need to go thru a folder and insert the first 10 letters of the text file name into the first line of those individual files. Im not experienced at programing but know how to execute the bat file from send-to.

You are going to have to give more information on how the first ten letters are configured, 1 block of ten, words of differing lengths. Give a good example.

Thanks for the reply,
an example of the file names are 0504520340_elec.txt. I want to only put the numbers into the 1st line of the body of the text.
