increasing windows xp registry size

There's no set size for the Registry. Like a text file, add text the file gets bigger, remove text and it gets smaller. It's dynamic and the user has no control over its size other than installing programs or uninstalling them.

Wrong! Windows 2000 and Windows XP do have a maximum registry size setting.

Here's Microsoft's web page explaining how to change the space allocation for the size of the registry.
Didn't know that this existed, and when I went through all these hoops to reach the place to change registry size, there was no entry to change. I conclude, therefore, that my registry size must have no upper limit.
