Hi,

When I start my computer the screen is not aligned when windows is starting up, but when windows has finished loading the screen alignment is correct. Also, for some games the screen is not aligned - why is this? Is it something to do with the video card drivers?

Tweak your monitor settings (pressing butons on the monitor itself)

Try to align the screen when it's not align, e.g. while running a game. For some reason this helps sometimes, and the layout won't brake in applications where it was ok before.
