I have one harddisk with 2 partitions in FAT32 format:

drive C with WinXP installed
drive D with Chinese Windows 98 installed

the MS startup menu was appeared after I installed WinXP for my choice of OS. Few days later, everytime I switch on my computer, it said "INCORRECT file 'BOOT.INI', run from c:\windows\..."
The startup menu no longer appear and I can only run my computer in WinXP. I couldn't find that file on my harddisk, so I made a new boot.ini at C:\ but didn't solve the problem, same msg appear. Can anyone help me recall the cwin98?

Have you tried booting from a Win9x Startup disk and running FDISK and then setting the C partiton as Active?
